Our Association
Norton Green Residents Association was set up in its present form in the year 2000. Although prior to this there has been a Residents Association in Norton Green for the last 15 years that only operated for a small number of streets in the village.
In 2002 it was agreed at our AGM (annual general meeting) the Residents Association would be open to all residents within Norton Green Village.
Our association is a voluntary, non profit making and non political group consisting of 20 members who all act as the committee and have a voice on any decisions made.
Our Committe recently went through some changes following the resignation of Darren Gerrard who had been chairman from 2000 - 2009.
Whilst in office Darren strived for and achieved many long term changes for the good of the village and will be greatly missed.
The new committe are as follows;
Committee
- Trevor Mountford (Chairman)
- Michael Johnson (Treasurer)
- Paula Zieman (Secretary)
Committee Members
- Janet Fox
- David Smith
- Annette Barnet
- Aurthur Watkin

Achievements
Our major success to date are as follows:
The footpath improvements and renovation of the bridge on Endon Rd in 2005. Having been involved in this project from the onset we believe that the character of the bridge has been maintained and much needed footpaths have been widened.
We also donated 2 cast iron signs which have been erected on the bridge to highlight the River Trent passing through the village.
In 2005 we applied for 'Village Green' status for The Tank Field (Tanky), it was granted in 2007.
The Summer of 2008 - The Tank Field Project began Phase 1 in collaboration with GroundWorks ... Read more
First Publication An Overwelming Success!
On Saturday 6th December 2007, following 12 months of research and funding from the National Lottery - Awards For All, Norton Green History group launched its first publication 'Memories of Norton Green - the first village on the River Trent'.
The event was held at the Zion Methodist Chapel, Endon Road, and the response we recieved was astounding, with eager residents queing out of the Chapel and up the road.
The most fitting quote of the day came from an elderley lady who has lived in Norton Green all her life ...
"I havent seen anything like this in the village since the Coronation of the King in 1937"!
Over 400 copies were handed out over the next few hours as the demand continued. We also took names and addresses of a further 100 people who attended the event in the hope of receiving a copy.
Following our launch we have distributed a further 350 copies to anyone who has requested one. There are still a number of copies available to residents of the village - please get in touch if you haven't yet received a copy.
The book launch also generated £180 in donations which we forwarded to the Zion Methodist Chapel in recognition of their continuing support for our group.

Activities
We work closely with the children of the village to include them in everything we do.
The local children have enjoyed trips to Alton Towers and Delamere Forest, and a day out Paintballing.
Our day trips also include some of our older residents on the village including residents from Trentside Residential Home to a day trip to Stapeley Water Gardens which includes lunch.
We also organized a subsidised trip to Blackpool for them to see the illuminations in October 2005.
A Christmas tree is donated to the village every year and is erected outside in the grounds of Trentside Manor Residential Home.
Donations have been given to Douglas Macmillan Charity Fund and to the St. Bartholomews 'Organ Appeal'.
Our Annual Summer Fun Day event is eagerly awaited by residents and locals from the surrounding villages.
The other main event on our calendar is our Annual Bonfire and Firework display held at the back of Trentside Manor which attracts a large number of local residents who can enjoy an affordable & safe family night out.
