I trained in fine art at Newcastle under Lyme School of Art, Sheffield Polytechnic and the North Staffs Polytechnic where I graduated with a BA with Honours in fine art.
I live in Foundry Square, Norton Green with my wife Mary and Border Collie, Splash. We love it here… it’s a wonderful place to live, surrounded by countryside and wildlife. The people of Norton Green are a great bunch!
I work in Graphic Design and Marketing but my first love is painting and drawing animals which I have always done from an early age and from which I get great pleasure and satisfaction. I hope that this love of animals comes across in my work.
I am a Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and a member of the Association of Animal Artists.
I only use good quality photographs as reference for commissions. These can be supplied by the client or can be taken by myself.
I work exclusively in high quality pastels and use top quality ‘velour’ paper which gives a velvet like finish, enhancing both fur and feather.
